WARM SEASON GRASSES. Tropical and subtropical grasses which grow best at 85-90 F temperature range. Bermuda, St Augustine and Zoysia are common warm season grasses.

WARNING. A pesticide label signal word. It indicates a moderately toxic, category II material, with an oral LD50 of 50-500, and a dermal of 200-2000 mg/kg.

WET WILT. The inability of a plant to absorb enough moisture through the roots to keep up with water loss through the leaves, although there is abundant moisture in the soil.

WETTABLE POWDER. A pesticide formulation that is easily wetted and disperses well in water. WP is the label abbreviation for this formulation.

WINTER ANNUAL. A plant whose seeds germinate in the fall or winter; lives through the winter in the vegetative stage, develops flowers and seeds in the spring and summer and dies by winter.
