Best wishes to all our members for 2008
This year will be a particularly busy one for the committee of the TGCSA. As proposed at the AGM last year we are holding the North Island Fine Turf Conference in New Plymouth. Preliminary planning has been done and the details we have at this stage are:
Dates: 30 June – 1 July Venue: Quality Hotel Plymouth International Theme: “ Back to Basics ”
We have already confirmed a number of quality speakers and the conference promises to hold appeal for all with practical, down to earth presentations. Please keep these dates free. All golf clubs in the North Island will be sent a registration pack in due course. Also information is posted on the website nzgcsa.org.nz / conferences / regional.
In the meantime we will still be holding training days around the region.
Details of our first training day are:
Date: Wednesday 13th February Time: 12:30 pm Venue: Te Ngutu Golf Club Topic: “Developments in fairway and trim mowing equipment”
There will be Jacobsen, John Deere and Toro equipment on site and the corresponding company representatives, Gary Hampton, Chris Scoble and Tony Tipper to manage proceedings.
We look forward to seeing you there.
There is an invitation to all North Island associations to attend a presentation from Dean Scullion of e-par of Australia on the environmental management process. The topic will cover how clubs can keep track of their compliance issues and safeguard their jobs as well as the environment. This day will start at Kinloch at 10am and after the presentation and lunch we will walk the completed back 9. If you are interested contact Martin or Steve by 8 February.
