Education
NZGCSA provide moderators for maintaining training standards within the turf industry
NZGCSA assists with organising conferences and sports turf conventions. Assists running the National Bi-Annual Conference and sits on the board of the Sports Turf Convention every 4 years.
NZGCSA administers the Toro Educational Fund. Used to bring overseas guest speakers to New Zealand and host them throughout the country.
The NZGCSA Administers Awards
John Deere Fellowship. A bi-annual award for developing turf managers.
Scotts Scholarship. The winning applicants receive a scholarship to advance their education.
Trainee of the Year Award. Awarded to the top trainee in the country. (Sponsored by Jacobsen).
Recognition of National Tournaments. Superintendents that host national tournaments receive recognition for their efforts.
The establishment of an environmental award is currently being investigated.
NZGCSA Representation
Representation on the Sports Turf Industry Training Organisation Board. Called the STITO for short, it governs all training with regards to the turf industry in New Zealand. We can have up to two representatives at any one time.
Representation on the New Zealand Sports Turf Institute Board. NZSTI board members represent all the sectors in the turf industry (i.e. golf, bowls & cricket), with both administrative and practical backgrounds.
NZGCSA Publications
Permanent section published in the quarterly NZ Turf Journal.
Newsletters sent to all members every two months with association information updates.
NZGCSA Communication and Promotion
Connected to the internet with our own Website.
Member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) and the Australian Golf Course Superintendents Association (AGCSA).
Keep in contact with the NZGA and exchange information and ideas important to our members.
Access to legal advice involving contract and employment issues.
