Greenkeeper – Queens Park Golf Club

A full time position as Greenkeeper has become available at Queens Park Golf Club.

Queens Park Golf course is a flat ‘parklands’ course situated in central Invercargill.

The successful applicant will work with the club committee, be responsible for the care/maintenance of our 100 year old course, supervision of other grounds staff and volunteers.

Applicants should have Greenkeeper qualifications, a ’Grow Safe’ approved handler certificate, a good understanding of today’s Health & Safety requirements and a current drivers licence.

Queens Park Golf Club would also expect applicants to have: a positive attitude, be punctual with good time management and planning skills, have experience in the maintenance of Greenkeeping equipment, to have good communication skills and be able to work unsupervised.

Some work, outside of normal working hours, would be required during busy periods and in preparation for tournaments etc.

We are now searching for a technically minded person to fill the role of Technical Sales Representative - Turf, Upper North Island. In this Auckland region based role you will work closely with the NZ Turf Manager and spend your time in-field with the company’s customers. You will draw up turf management plans, provide technical advice and be on hand to assist with the issues your customers face with replenishing and maintaining their turf areas.

Competencies required to be successful in this role include:

· An understanding of seed, crop protection or nutrition from a technical perspective

· Relevant account management or sales experience

· Willingness to spend around 4 nights away from home each month

· Ability to form and maintain solid ongoing relationships

Foreman Position

Kauri Cliffs Golf Course and Lodge is situated in the Bay of Islands, 30 minutes’ drive north of the Kerikeri township. Kauri Cliffs is currently ranked in the top 100 golf courses in the world and works out of a modern facility with a wide range of the latest equipment. This is a unique opportunity to progress in the field of turf management working closely with both the Assistant and Golf Course Managers, helping in the planning of both short and long-term goals and the daily work programs.

You will be rostered to work every third weekend and required to work an 86 hour fortnight.

The successful candidate for this role will have

- Formal turf qualifications relevant to this senior position.

- Have a proven ability to help lead and motivate a large team.

- Practical experience and operation of most turf related plant and equipment.

- Relevant experience and qualifications in chemical usage and application.

- A strong understanding of modern Health and Safety requirements and reporting

- Sound verbal and written communication skills

- Good level of fitness and enjoy physical work

- Current Drivers Licence

Sportsfields Technician

The Wellington City Council Sportsfields team is responsible for the management of all sportsfields facilities in Wellington, providing high quality playing surfaces for the sporting and recreational community in the Wellington region.

This is a multi-disciplined role that is primarily assigned to manage the maintenance of natural surfaces within Wellington City. You will also be assigned to work in the areas of premier fields, artificial surfaces, and fine turf maintenance.

Core elements of the role include:

· premier grade cricket wicket preparation and maintenance

· general sportsfields work

· renovation work

· fertiliser and pesticide applications

· customer service excellence.

To be considered for this role you will have proven experience, skill and knowledge of sports turf management. Assistant Turf Manager

FMG Stadium Waikato and Seddon Park are two of New Zealand's finest sporting venues and high-profile public assets owned by the people of Hamilton.

We have an opportunity as an Assistant Turf Manager – a role in which you will be responsible for leading members of the Turf Team who are responsible for managing the playing surfaces at FMG Stadium Waikato and our other venues.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate both leadership and turf management skills. Your turf experience will include preparing international and domestic rugby turf surfaces, maintaining a sand turf profile outfield along with the preparation and application of agrichemicals. In addition, you will need a clean NZ driver's license and a sports turf qualification.

The nature of our business means there are some long days on the job, and you'll need to demonstrate the flexibility needed to meet the requirements of the events we host, including being available to work Monday to Sunday as rostered.

HIKURANGI GOLF CLUB – GREENKEEPER

Applications are invited for the position of Greenkeeper at the Hikurangi Golf Club, an 18 hole country course situated in Marua Road, Hikurangi, Northland.

Escape the rat race to the winterless north. This is a sole charge position supported by club volunteers on undulating terrain with soil greens.

The club is prepared to consider all applications from experienced golf course greenkeepers with negotiable hours to suit the selected candidate, but some weekend work will be required. It is anticipated that the selected applicant would commence work in the new year on a mutually convenient date.
