Gibbs Farm Sculpture Park - 2IC
The Gibbs farm Sculpture park is 500-hectares set on the Kaipara Harbour. It is an open-air sculpture park, 47 kilometres north of Auckland’s CBD. It hosts the biggest collection of large-scale art installations in New Zealand. The park is world famous for the quality of its art and its beautiful settings. As we are not a Golf Club we don’t need early morning mowing. We mow around 300Ha as if it was fairways and top the rest with the topper mower in the paddocks.
We are looking for a 2IC to join the Turf division working with the Turf Manager to maintain the farm turf at a high standard. You will manage a team of mower and weed-eater operators. This position would suit a level 4 New Zealand Sports Turf Management qualification or higher.
The candidate will need:
· Sound and proven Knowledge of Health and Safety and Hazardous Substances Legislation
· Experience in turf construction and the re-grow in of new developments
· Strong attention to detail with well-planned organisation skills and the ability to work autonomously
· Ability to operate a wide range of machinery this includes Toro and John Deere
· Approved handlers certificate
· Good communication skills
· Must be flexible with working hours when under time constraints

Wellington City Council - Sportsfield Technician
The Wellington City Council Sportsfields team is responsible for the management of all sportsfields facilities in Wellington providing high quality playing surfaces for the sporting and recreational community in the Wellington region.
The Sportsfield Technician is a multi-disciplined role that is primarily assigned to manage the maintenance of natural surfaces within Wellington City. The role will also be assigned to work in the areas of premier fields, artificial surfaces, and fine turf maintenance. The Sportsfields Technician will be part of the team responsible for the day to day maintenance and delivery of all operational aspects associated with Sportsfields.
Core elements of the role include the following:
High quality turf management
Premier grade cricket wicket preparation and maintenance
General sportsfields work
Preferably have Class 2 drivers licence incl. track, roller, wheels
Fertiliser and pesticide applications
Customer service excellence
To be considered for this role you will have proven experience, skill and knowledge of sports turf management. You will also have experience in plant use and maintenance with strong technical knowledge in turf, fertilizers, pest and weed identification and control. You will be qualified at Level 4 in Turf Management, have a high level of initiative, be motivated, take ownership and work both individually and as part of our team. You will also need to have a calm, friendly disposition and enjoy working with our customers providing exceptional customer service. Naturally you will have a 'can do' attitude.
