Methven Golf Club is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced person preferably close to or holding level 3 or 4 qualifications for our 18-hole course situated just outside Methven township and only a short distance from the famous Mt Hutt Ski Field.
This is a full-time position that offers up-and-coming Greens Keepers experience at one of Mid-Canterbury’s most popular golfing venues for members and the many visitors we host annually.
We are looking for a passionate individual who will drive excellence within our small team and help to deliver a high-quality course, with top-class playing surfaces through best practice maintenance activities.
We are looking for the following skills and attributes:
a) Experience leading volunteers and able to fit into a small vibrant team.
b) Comprehensive knowledge of turf management and agronomy including formal qualifications such as a recognised turf diploma/certificate, including relevant spraying expertise.
c) Experience in planning, maintaining and consistently delivering a well-presented golf course to tournament standards.
d) Knowledge and experience with assisting to develop and efficiently manage a budget including establishing and implementing asset management programmes.
e) Knowledge of and experience in irrigation maintenance and installation. Plus, experience in managing a fleet of machinery and plant equipment.
f) An outgoing and consultative attitude that will contribute to wider Club initiatives and projects.

About the role:
The Eden Park Trust is seeking an experienced and qualified Turf Assistant to join our high-performing Turf team.
This full-time role is ideal for someone who has completed their Level 4 Turf Management qualification and has at least one year of hands-on turf management experience in a similar environment.
You will support the preparation and maintenance of Eden Park’s playing surfaces, including cricket pitches, outfields, and training areas, while also contributing to the delivery of international and domestic rugby, football, and major events.
Working as part of the Turf team, you will assist with maintaining exceptional turf standards across all sports and events, helping ensure athletes and spectators experience the very best Eden Park has to offer. contributing to the preparation, presentation, and safe operation of turf surfaces across the stadium.
You will work closely with the General Manager, Turf Operations, Turf Managers, internal stadium teams and stakeholders to maintain and support exceptional standards of turf preparation & delivery across all cricket-related activities.
What you'll do:
Turf Maintenance -
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of all turf areas across sporting codes and events
Undertake mowing, line marking and all other associated tasks to international standards
Support fertility programmes and the monitoring and control of turf diseases and pests
Help ensure turf quality meets the expectations of relevant stakeholders
Outer Oval & Cricket Practice Facilities -
Maintain the outer oval and cricket practice areas
Support cricket delivery on Field 1 (pitches and outfield preparation) under team guidance
Partake in all cricket renovations including pitches, outfield and portable pitch nursery
Event Changeovers -
Contribute to seamless event transitions (e.g. rugby, cricket, football, concerts etc)
Carry out turf replacements and goal post switches etc
Assist with portable pitch movements as required
Machinery & Safety -
Operate and maintain turf equipment safely as per SOP’s
Ensure Eden Park health and policies and processes are complied with at all times
Gardens & Special Projects -
Participate in basic garden maintenance if/as required
Take ownership of special projects or assigned tasks from time to time
What we're looking for:
We are seeking a proactive, experienced and reliable Turf Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced sporting environment and takes pride in maintaining high-quality playing surfaces.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
Level 4 Certificate in Turf Management
At least 1 years’ hands-on experience in the sports turf environment after the completion of your qualification
Introductory Growsafe certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Experience operating tractors, small plant, and turf maintenance equipment
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Clear, confident communication skills and proficiency in both written and verbal English are essential.

Wainui Golf & Function Centre is one of Auckland’s most progressive golf facilities, operating a 27-hole championship golf course, driving range, and hospitality venue.
As the Club continues to develop and elevate course conditioning standards, we are seeking an experienced full-time Mechanic to join our Course Team.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the maintenance and reliability of the Club’s machinery fleet and play an important part in supporting the ongoing development of the course.
The Role
Reporting to the Course Superintendent, the Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Club’s machinery fleet.
The role focuses on preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair, ensuring equipment is maintained to a high standard and available to support daily course operations.
Equipment includes:
Golf course turf maintenance machinery
Ride-on and greens mowers
Utility vehicles
Golf carts (electric and petrol)
Small engines and pumps
Driving range and grounds equipment
General plant and workshop equipment
This position provides the opportunity to take ownership of the Club’s machinery fleet and develop a structured preventative maintenance programme supporting a 27-hole facility.
Fleet & Workshop Responsibility
The successful candidate will take ownership of the Club’s machinery maintenance programme and workshop operations.
This includes developing and maintaining a structured preventative maintenance schedule, maintaining accurate service records, managing spare parts inventory, and working closely with the Course Superintendent to ensure machinery is set up and maintained to support course presentation standards.
The role offers the opportunity to establish best-practice maintenance systems and contribute to the long-term machinery strategy for the Club.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and service the Club’s fleet of turf maintenance machinery and vehicles
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
Implement and manage a preventative maintenance programme
Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
Manage spare parts and workshop inventory
Provide recommendations on repair versus replacement of equipment
Ensure workshop safety and compliance with Health and Safety requirements
Work closely with the Course Team to ensure equipment is maintained to support course presentation standards
About You
We are seeking a practical and experienced mechanic who takes pride in maintaining machinery to a high standard.
Ideally you will have:
A relevant mechanical qualification (automotive, diesel, or small engine technology)
3–5 years’ experience working with small engines, diesel engines, hydraulic systems and electrical diagnostics
Experience servicing machinery such as mowers, utility vehicles, or similar equipment
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Experience with turf machinery or golf course equipment would be highly advantageous.
Additional desirable experience includes:
Brands such as Toro, John Deere or similar
Basic welding or fabrication skills
Experience with electric vehicles or battery systems
Personal Attributes

In this role, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day preparation and maintenance of the cricket wickets and other sports turf areas within the network. Your work will include mowing, line marking, renovation work, fertilising, chemical application and other general turf maintenance duties to keep our fields in top condition for local clubs, schools, and community events.
You'll also help prepare fields for scheduled sports games and undertake renovation work when needed. The position involves operating a range of equipment, including ride-on mowers, tractors, line markers, and other specialist turf-care machinery, while ensuring everything is used safely and maintained to a high standard.
From time to time, you'll also support the wider grounds team with general maintenance such as planting, weeding, pruning, and caring for public spaces and amenities. As someone who is proud of the work they do, you'll represent Council positively when interacting with the public and contribute to a safe and respectful workplace by following all health and safety procedures.
To thrive in this role, you'll ideally bring experience in turf or sports field maintenance, along with practical skills in equipment operation and general horticulture. A certificate in Turf Management or Horticulture is an advantage, though equivalent experience will also be considered. A full driver's licence is required, and any machinery or Growsafe endorsements will be helpful.

Rotorua Lakes Council is looking for a Sports Field and Mowing Services Team Leader to guide a small, capable team in maintaining our sports fields, parks, and open spaces.
This role is perfect for someone who loves being outdoors and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. Around 80% of your time will be spent in the field, working alongside your team, sharing your technical knowledge, and setting the standard through your own work.
You’ll oversee the delivery of sports field maintenance, ensuring surfaces are safe, well‑presented, and ready for everything from community training sessions to high‑profile sporting events held at Rotorua International Stadium.
You’ll plan and support turf care programmes, seasonal renovations, mowing schedules, line marking, aeration, and everything needed to keep our green spaces in excellent condition.
You will take a leading role in organising and delivering mowing services across parks and reserves, adapting work programmes to seasonal growth patterns and ensuring that our open spaces are consistently maintained to a high standard. Effective resource use, equipment care, and operational efficiency are key parts of the role, and you’ll be trusted to keep things running smoothly and safely.
Irrigation and water management will also be an important part of your responsibilities. You’ll monitor systems, respond to faults, and adjust irrigation schedules based on weather and soil conditions to support sustainable and healthy turf growth.
As a team leader, you’ll allocate daily tasks, provide coaching and guidance, and help build capability within your team. You’ll foster a positive, supportive, safety‑first culture where everyone feels valued and motivated. Strong leadership is essential, especially when it comes to promoting safe work practices, managing risks, and ensuring all activities meet both legislative and council requirements.
You’ll also play a key role in interacting with the community and stakeholders. Whether it’s responding to service requests, working with local sports clubs, or coordinating with contractors and internal teams, you’ll represent the Council with professionalism, clarity, and a commitment to great service.
To succeed in this role, you’ll ideally bring a background in turf management, horticulture, or a related field, supported by several years of experience in sports field, golf course or grounds maintenance. You’ll have proven supervisory or leadership experience, a strong understanding of turf management requirements of various sports codes, and confidence operating and caring for mowing and turf equipment.
A full driver’s licence is required, growsafe and machinery endorsements are a welcome advantage.

Manaia Golf Club - Greenkeeper
Manaia Golf Club in Taranaki is seeking a full-time or part time experienced and qualified Greenkeeper to join our team of dedicated volunteers, and to lead our course maintenance.
We are located on Surf Highway 45, Manaia, approx 10 minutes from Hawera. We have a very well-maintained course which hosts our 170 members and a large number of green fee players annually. We have an excellent range of equipment and machinery to assist with tasks on the course.
Roles and responsibilities:
Carrying out all greenkeeping duties including mowing, spraying, fertilising to ensure the course is in peak condition.
Monitoring and maintaining irrigation systems to optimise water usage and turf health.
Organising work for our group of volunteers.
Actively engaging with the course convenor to develop and implement course management plans and strategies.
Identifying and addressing any turf or soil health issues to prevent and treat disease or damage.
Performing general grounds maintenance tasks around the course.
Assisting with the operation and maintenance of all greenkeeping equipment.
Given the sole position nature of this position the successful candidate must possess the following:
Self-motivation.
A positive attitude.
Excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of Health and Safety best practice requirements for greenkeeping.
Experience in machinery maintenance and adjustments.
Relevant Grow-safe qualifications.
