Methven Golf Club is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced person preferably close to or holding level 3 or 4 qualifications for our 18-hole course situated just outside Methven township and only a short distance from the famous Mt Hutt Ski Field.
This is a full-time position that offers up-and-coming Greens Keepers experience at one of Mid-Canterbury’s most popular golfing venues for members and the many visitors we host annually.
We are looking for a passionate individual who will drive excellence within our small team and help to deliver a high-quality course, with top-class playing surfaces through best practice maintenance activities.
We are looking for the following skills and attributes:
Experience leading volunteers and able to fit into a small vibrant team.
Comprehensive knowledge of turf management and agronomy including formal qualifications such as a recognised turf diploma/certificate, including relevant spraying expertise.
Experience in planning, maintaining and consistently delivering a well-presented golf course to tournament standards.
Knowledge and experience with assisting to develop and efficiently manage a budget including establishing and implementing asset management programmes.
Knowledge of and experience in irrigation maintenance and installation. Plus, experience in managing a fleet of machinery and plant equipment.
An outgoing and consultative attitude that will contribute to wider Club initiatives and projects.

Cricket Preparation Specialist - Groundsperson
High Performance Indoor Cricket Centre
Wellington Central – Full Time - $30-$37 per hour
Mexted Sports Turf is looking to recruit a skilled Cricket Preparation Specialist/Groundsperson as part of our broader Wellington city team that also looks after the Basin Reserve and the Wellington College grounds.
You will be based at the High-Performance Indoor Cricket Centre on the campus of Wellington College, where your primary role will be preparing and maintaining wickets for the teams that practice there, under the guidance of our Contract Manager.
The job involves flexible working hours to meet the requirements of opening and closing the facility for users seven days a week, with back up support from other members of our Wellington team.
We are looking for a person with a flexible attitude, strong communication skills and a calm, approachable manner to deal with the pressures of the day-to-day running of this busy facility.
You will also assist in preparing and maintaining wickets at the Basin Reserve, and assist in seasonal sports turf preparation and maintenance for summer and winter codes at the adjacent Wellington College including mowing, line marking, topdressing, fertiliser application, decompaction and seasonal renovations.
The successful candidate will have the drive, enthusiasm and expertise to deliver exceptional pitch preparation for both professional and community cricket.
You’ll be working closely with cricket teams at all levels, so the confidence and ability to communicate clearly and positively with stakeholders is a must.
Key responsibilities:
plan, prepare, monitor and maintain cricket wickets;
work closely with cricket teams, coaches and grounds staff to ensure wicket conditions align with usage requirements;
conduct regular maintenance of the high-performance cricket facility, including mowing, rolling and irrigation;
manage and control wicket preparation resources, including tools, equipment, and materials;
keep detailed records of pitch conditions and maintenance schedules.

Team Leader – Spray Technician

Remuera Golf Club is seeking a motivated and passionate Team Leader – Spray Technician to join our course maintenance team and play a key role in the presentation and continued development of one of New Zealand’s busiest premier golf clubs.
Located in the heart of Auckland, Remuera Golf Club is recognised for delivering outstanding playing conditions while continuing to invest in course improvements, infrastructure, and modern turf management practices. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced turf professional looking to step into a leadership position within a progressive and supportive environment.
This role is one of three Team Leader positions within the Course & Environs department, working collaboratively under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent. The successful applicant will play a key role in spray operations and the day-to-day leadership of the course team, including the daily management, presentation, and ongoing development of the golf course.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in coordinating, leading and carrying out spray application programmes across the golf course
Assist with irrigation, turf health, fertility, and pest management programmes
Work closely with the Superintendent on daily planning and course presentation
Work collaboratively with the Superintendent and Team Leader group on staff coordination and daily operations
Help allocate and organise staff job tasks during your designated leadership week
Take responsibility for leading the maintenance team for one full week in the lead-up to the club’s busy weekend play
Assist with machinery operation, project work, and general course maintenance
Ensure all spraying and maintenance practices are completed safely and in accordance with health and safety requirements
Assist with attention to detail, preparation, and presentation standards

Position Objective:
To ensure that the grounds within the North Shore Golf Clubs boundary are maintained to the highest possible standard at all times.
Position Description and Duties:
The position of Qualified Green Keeper will maintain the boundaries within the North Shore Golf Club to the highest possible standard at all times while continually adding value as a senior staff member to the Foreman (3iC), Assistant Superintendent (2iC) and Golf Course Superintendent.
This will be achieved by:
Assisting in all areas of the day to day grooming of the golf course. Including mowing all areas of the golf environs, bunker development and maintenance, assisting with course renovations and to assist with other duties as required
Proactively implement and apply designed programs to all surfaces
Assistant in the Management of the Volunteer effort and work closely with this group to deliver high standards of presentation
Assist in the management of the Irrigation systems and componentry being able to program irrigation applications where needed
Gaining satisfactory knowledge on all plant and machinery used on the course and to use it in a correct and safe manner so as not to injure yourself or work mates
Carrying out basic maintenance on all machinery as directed by the Course Mechanic
Reporting any damage to plant and machinery immediately to the Course Mechanic, 2iC or the Course Superintendent
Being self motivated and in some cases working unsupervised
Being available to work extra hours when required including a rotating roster for weekends
Being polite and courteous to club members
Wearing (at all times) and maintaining staff uniform
Leading by example by exemplifying professionalism and showing less experienced staff on how to manage yourself as a tradesperson
Take control and lead from the front with high level work practices when working on project works
Be an influential senior staff member with apprenticed staff and teach with a high degree of empathy
Provide a good eye for detail and look for on-going improvement relating to set up and presentation for the golf course
Be proactive and become a leader in self education and increase your knowledge in all facets of the business
Assist in the management of contractors providing guidance and supervision where necessary
Liaise with all levels of Club Management including Proshop Manager and staff, Golf Operations Manager and Assistant, General Manager and Club Administrator where necessary
