Future Turf Managers Initiative 2018

Australasian Turfgrass Conference and Trade Exhibition 2018

The NZGCSA along with the AGCSA welcome you and the turf industry to the Australasian Turfgrass Conference & Exhibition which is being held at the TSB Bank Arena in Wellington, 25-28 June 2018.  The theme of the conference is "Tipu Tahi - Growing Together".

This event is the result of a number of years of work between our two associations and will provide a fantastic opportunity for upskilling in education and knowledge, hear world class speakers speak on a range of topics and to network with not only your New Zealand peers but also your Australian peers. All this and more here in New Zealand without having to leave our shores.

Earlybird registrations are now being taken, but please note the cut off for this is 31 January 2018 so make sure you register before then to receive the discounted price.

NZGCSA Environment Award supported by PGG Wrightson Turf

With the valuable support of PGG Wrightson Turf the NZGCSA is very happy to invite applications for the 2017 NZGCSA Environment Award supported by PGG Wrightson Turf.

This a great opportunity for you and your golf club to be rewarded for your efforts towards making the environment a better place now and for the future. At a time when many eyes are looking at our and associated industries on the use of fertilisers and chemicals this is an awesome chance to show that we act responsible and sustainable with our practices and with the environment that surrounds us.

Don’t feel that you have to have completely achieved the package environmentally to apply. It is an on- going and evolving process and you may be part way but well into your goals to improve your course environmentally.

The winning Golf Club will receive $3500 cash prize and the winning Superintendent a cash prize of $1500 used solely for continued education/study trip for environmental stewardship both courtesy of PGG Wrightson Turf.

Applications close Friday 23rd February 2018 and the award is open to NZGCSA Class A members working on NZ golf courses.  The Award is being presented and recognised at the Australasian Turfgrass Conference which is taking place in Wellington 25-29 June 2018.

NZGCSA Parkland Excellence Award sponsored by Parkland Products

The NZGCSA and Parkland Products are very excited and pleased to be able to announce that applications are now open for the 2017 NZGCSA Parkland Excellence Award sponsored by Parkland Products. This is the premier award and recognition of excellence within the NZ golf course management.

The award will be judged in early 2018 by 2 NZGCSA Life members culminating with the presentation of the NZGCSA Parkland Excellence Award to be made at the Australasian Turfgrass Conference being held in Wellington 25-29 June 2018.

The award is open to all Class A members of the NZGCSA so get your applications filled in and returned, to be recognised for your commitment to Excellence.  As well as a prize purse of $6000 for the winner Parkland are also generously giving $3000 for the runner up on the proviso that there are a minimum of 5 applicants.

Judging will have criteria focus on having consistently produced and outstanding playing surfaces, while managing relationships with staff and stakeholders in a highly professional manner. In other words, they are looking for the complete package in excellence.

So if you want to be judged amongst your peers for your efforts of excellence at your golf course we invite your application now.
