Two Positions Available – 2IC Greenkeeper & Greenkeeper
Circumstances have allowed for two fantastic opportunities to join the team at Ōhope Beach Golf Links.
Located in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, Ōhope Beach Golf Links is a beautiful links course ranked #21 in New Zealand by Top 100 Golf Courses. The Whakatāne/Ōhope area offers an amazing lifestyle with easy access to surfing, swimming, fishing, mountain biking and more.
Both positions are to assist our Ohope Beach Golf Links greenkeeping team, caring for grounds throughout the year. These positions are a 40-hour a week, permanent role, including working a flexible weekend roster.
2IC Greenkeeper
We are looking for someone with:
Minimum Level 3, preferably Level 4, Sports Turf qualification.
Current Growsafe certificate and spray experience.
Experience with RainBird irrigation systems.
A strong eye for detail and pride in maintaining high-quality turf.
A positive and professional approach with members, visitors and staff.
Flexibility and the ability to work independently.
Key responsibilities include:
Working alongside the Head Greenkeeper to plan and schedule daily work.
Basic machinery maintenance and reporting faults.
Assisting with health and safety systems and records.
Training staff and volunteers in turf machinery and tasks.
Leading project work and volunteer teams.
Taking responsibility for the course when the Head Greenkeeper is away.

About the Role
This is a full-time, hands-on position for a qualified Greenkeeper who takes pride in their work to ensure Summerhill is consistently presented to the highest possible standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
Daily preparation including mowing and maintaining all playing surfaces, including greens, fairways, tees, roughs, and surrounds.
Management of the on course Husqvarna Auto mowers.
Upkeep and care of hole changing, bunkers, practice range and ride on mowing areas.
Turf management, irrigation, fertilising, spraying and renovation programmes.
Operation and care of golf course facilities, machinery and equipment.
External Contractor induction and management.
Identifying opportunities to improve course conditions, presentation and playability.
Contributing to ongoing course development and improvement projects.

All England Lawn Tennis Club (Wimbledon UK) - Seasonal Groundstaff 2027
As a Seasonal Groundsperson, you will support the seasonal maintenance, presentation and preparation of the AELTC’s grass courts and other playing surfaces across all venues. Working as part of the Groundstaff team during the busiest operational periods, you will help deliver exceptional standards for Members, their guests, The Championships and other events while developing practical experience in professional sports turf management. This role has an extended recruitment period with the start date in March/April 2027 and is a 7 month fixed term contract.
What you will be doing
Grass court maintenance
Assist with the care, preparation and daily maintenance of grass courts across all venues, including mowing, marking out and seasonal court preparation activities.
Apply granular and liquid nutrition, soil conditioners and other approved products under supervision and in accordance with best practice and environmental guidelines.
Support spring and autumn renovation programmes and assist with the presentation of courts to competition standards.
Monitor and report weeds, pests, diseases and disorders, supporting appropriate control measures as directed.
Multi-surface and grounds maintenance
Assist in the care and daily maintenance of clay courts, hard courts, covered courts, croquet lawns, ornamental areas, other grass areas and car parks across all venues.
Keep grounds, pathways, fencing lines and areas surrounding courts clean, tidy, safe and weed free.
Support the preparation and presentation of venues for Members, guests, The Championships and other events.
Equipment and facilities
Assist with the care, maintenance and safe operation of equipment, tools, benches, netting systems, court accessories and irrigation equipment.
Set up courts for play, including permanent and temporary netting, grass court covers, court cups, water supplies and associated equipment.
Operate pedestrian, ride on and tractor mounted machinery, buggies and other authorised vehicles safely and in accordance with site rules.
Health & safety, teamwork and flexibility
Maintain health, safety and security in the workplace and comply with company procedures, guidelines and site rules.
Take personal responsibility for being in clean and presentable AELTC uniform during working hours.
Work flexibly across the Groundstaff and Horticultural Services departments as required across all venues.
Carry out any other duties within the department deemed necessary by the Lead Groundsperson.
What part your role will play in The Championships
The Groundstaff Department delivers year-round maintenance and state of the art preparation for The Championships, which sees around 3,500 hours of use during The Championships.
During The Championships period your role will help to support the AELTC’s goal of delivering the world’s premier tennis tournament and supporting one of the world’s most prestigious tennis clubs.
Your role will help provide support across all venues, including The All England Lawn Tennis Club (Championships) Limited (Wimbledon), The All England Club Community Sports Ground (Raynes Park), The Wimbledon Qualifying and Community Sports Centre (Roehampton) and surrounding areas.
About you
The qualifications, licences, knowledge and experience listed below are essential requirements for the role. Experience with clay, hard or covered courts would be advantageous.
Essential qualifications and experience
Level 2 qualification, or equivalent, in Sports Turf Management.
Proven practical experience in the preparation, maintenance and presentation of fine turfgrass surfaces and other sports surfaces to a high standard.
Knowledge of turfgrass maintenance, cultural practices and plant health management.
Current full UK Driving Licence (Category B), or a driving licence from your relevant authority/country. It is a condition of employment that the successful applicant holds, and continues to hold, a current full driving licence and can demonstrate the ability to safely operate vehicles including tractors, ride on machinery, buggies and company vehicles in accordance with site rules.

North Shore Golf Club - Qualified Greenkeeper
Position Objective:
To ensure that the grounds within the North Shore Golf Clubs boundary are maintained to the highest possible standard at all times.
Position Description and Duties:
The position of Qualified Green Keeper will maintain the boundaries within the North Shore Golf Club to the highest possible standard at all times while continually adding value as a senior staff member to the Foreman (3iC), Assistant Superintendent (2iC) and Golf Course Superintendent.
This will be achieved by:
Assisting in all areas of the day to day grooming of the golf course. Including mowing all areas of the golf course, bunker development and maintenance, assisting with course renovations and to assist with other duties as required
Proactively implement and apply designed programs to all surfaces
Assistant in the Management of the Volunteer effort and work closely with this group to deliver high standards of presentation
Assist in the management of the Irrigation systems and componentry being able to program irrigation applications where needed
Gaining satisfactory knowledge on all plant and machinery used on the course and to use it in a correct and safe manner so as not to injure yourself or work mates
Carrying out basic maintenance on all machinery as directed by the Course Mechanic
Reporting any damage to plant and machinery immediately to the Course Mechanic, 2iC or the Course Superintendent
Being self motivated and in some cases working unsupervised
Being available to work extra hours when required including a rotating roster for weekends
Being polite and courteous to club members
Wearing (at all times) and maintaining staff uniform
Leading by example by exemplifying professionalism and showing less experienced staff on how to manage yourself as a tradesperson
Take control and lead from the front with high level work practices when working on project works

About the Role:

Job Purpose:
Based on a 40 hour working week and weekends on a rota basis.
To assist in the daily operations of the Golf Course by ensuring the efficient preparation of the course.
Key Responsibilities:
To undertake daily turf maintenance and preparation of the course, skillfully operating pedestrian and ride on machinery to maintain the course to the best possible standards of presentation.
To assist in course construction whilst establishing and maintaining plants.

About the Role
We’re seeking Seasonal Greenkeepers to join us.
Assist with the grow-in and establishment of greens, tees, fairways and surrounds.
Support the final stages of golf course construction and landscape development.
Operate and maintain turf equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist with monitoring irrigation systems and maintain newly established turf areas.
Operation of state-of-the-art course machinery and maintenance facilities.
Maintain the highest standards of course presentation, quality and safety.

About You
A Turf Management, Landscape or Horticulture qualification or relevant industry experience is preferred but not essential.
Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high quality work every day.
Experience operating turf machinery and equipment.
Knowledge of health and safety practices within a team environment.
A positive attitude and strong work ethic with a desire to learn.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including early starts when required.

The Role

Success Profile
Either three years of relevant experience required or a qualification in Turf Management
Spraying experience is highly desirable
Sound knowledge of golf course maintenance
High level of attention to detail and excellent time management skills
Great communication skills, coupled with a “can do” attitude
Ability to work on own initiative, as well as work as an effective team player
Experience with machinery or manual power equipment
Must be physically fit, as the role requires manual handling
Driver’s Licence is essential

Course Superintendent - Hukanui Golf Club
This is a sole charge full time position. The successful applicant will report directly to the President, and will maintain the course, vegetation, plant & infrastructure, equipment, and utility facilities. They will also be responsible for managing part-time course assistants.
An on-site 3 Bedroom property is available at a subsidized rate if required.
Key attributes required:
Recognised NZ Turf Qualification.
Minimum of Certificate in Sports Turf Management Level 3, with a preference of Level 4.
Have a good understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace environment.
Have a Growsafe Standard Certificate (or equivalent).
Must be experienced in operating all core machinery, keep machinery maintenance up to date, and report regularly to the course committee.
Work well unsupervised, be reliable, and have a conscientious “can do” attitude.
High level of attention to detail, and good time management skills.
Have a valid New Zealand driving licence.
Preferred applicants for this position to have NZ residency.

Methven Golf Course Green Keeping Position.
Methven Golf Club is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced person preferably close to or holding level 3 or 4 qualifications for our 18-hole course situated just outside Methven township and only a short distance from the famous Mt Hutt Ski Field.
This is a full-time position that offers up-and-coming Greens Keepers experience at one of Mid-Canterbury’s most popular golfing venues for members and the many visitors we host annually.
We are looking for a passionate individual who will drive excellence within our small team and help to deliver a high-quality course, with top-class playing surfaces through best practice maintenance activities.
We are looking for the following skills and attributes:
Experience leading volunteers and able to fit into a small vibrant team.
Comprehensive knowledge of turf management and agronomy including formal qualifications such as a recognised turf diploma/certificate, including relevant spraying expertise.
Experience in planning, maintaining and consistently delivering a well-presented golf course to tournament standards.
Knowledge and experience with assisting to develop and efficiently manage a budget including establishing and implementing asset management programmes.
Knowledge of and experience in irrigation maintenance and installation. Plus, experience in managing a fleet of machinery and plant equipment.
An outgoing and consultative attitude that will contribute to wider Club initiatives and projects.
