Liaise with the Board of Management on strategic priorities and capital expenditure allocations.
Assist the General Manager with managing and enhancing staff performance and supporting the reviews process.
Responsible for promoting a positive Workplace Health & Safety culture, and ensures compliance for the course maintenance facility and team.
The successful applicant will be:
Level 4 - or above, qualified in Sports Turf Management.
Experience in a Senior Management role.
Passion for the golf course industry.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a small team of professionals.
Have a high attention to detail and an eagerness lead and implement change.

The Rotorua Golf Club is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Greenkeeper to join our course maintenance team on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about greenkeeping, enjoys working outdoors, and is keen to build a long-term career in the turf and sports management industry.
About the Role
Reporting to the Course Superintendent, you will be part of a team responsible for the presentation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of our golf course. The role involves hands-on, practical work in an outdoor environment and provides the opportunity to develop skills through on-the-job training and a formal sports turf apprenticeship.
We are looking for someone who:
Has a genuine interest in greenkeeping and sports turf management

Westport Golf Club - Greenkeeper
Westport Golf Club is seeking to engage the services of a full-time experienced and qualified Greenkeeper to join our team of dedicated volunteers, and to lead our course maintenance.
Located at Carters Beach Westport, our small club is thriving with 230 members, and our course is superbly maintained. We have an excellent suite of modern equipment and machinery to assist with tasks on the course.

Maraenui Golf Club is seeking a Qualified Greenkeeper to join our passionate team in Napier, Hawkes Bay. This is a full-time role where you’ll play a key part in maintaining the high-quality playing surfaces and well-presented grounds our members and visitors enjoy.
What you'll be doing
Carrying out all greenkeeping duties including mowing, aerating, fertilising and top-dressing to ensure the course is in peak condition
Monitoring and maintaining irrigation systems to optimise water usage and turf health
Identifying and addressing any turf or soil health issues to prevent and treat disease or damage
Performing general grounds maintenance tasks such as hedge trimming, edging and litter removal

Golf Course Mechanic - Hogan Gully Golf Course Construction Project
Hogan Gully Farm is an exciting new golf course resort being by developed by Trojan Holdings Ltd near Queenstown, New Zealand. Situated on a 158-hectare site surrounded by a stunning mountain landscape, Hogan Gully Farm encompasses an 18-hole championship golf course that integrates visitor and residential accommodation, along with complementary facilities.
The resort's amenities will include a driving range, clubhouse with retail services, changing facilities, a café/bar, and restaurant. Furthermore, the project incorporates a substantial ecological restoration and enhancement initiative, spanning 39 hectares.
We have an opportunity for a Golf Course Mechanic, which plays a key role in keeping our course in top condition. Working in brand new maintenance facilities, you’ll maintain and repair a wide range of specialist turf equipment, ensuring everything runs smoothly for our grounds team and members.
What You’ll Be Doing:
· Service and repair specialist golf equipment, including:
o Greens mowers (walk-behind and ride-on)
o Fairway and rough mowers
o Aerators, verticutters, and topdressers
o Utility vehicles, sprayers, and bunker rakes
· Service and maintenance of general vehicles and equipment across the resort
· Diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
· Perform scheduled maintenance to minimize downtime
· Maintain accurate service records and manage parts inventory
· Work closely with the course superintendent to prioritise repairs
What We’re Looking For:
· Proven experience as a mechanic (turf or agricultural equipment preferred)

What you will be doing
General Responsibilities
Maintaining health, safety and security in the workplace and complying with company procedures and guidelines.
Driving buggies and other required machinery according to site rules.
Taking personal responsibility to be in clean and presentable AELTC uniform during working hours.

Seasonal Gardener -
Planting and plant management to include feeding, watering, weeding, clearing, pruning, strimming, blowing and hedge cutting across all venues.
Maintaining health, safety and security in the workplace and complying with company procedures and guidelines, including manual handling procedures.
Operating machinery and equipment and assisting in the care and daily maintenance of all equipment and tools according to the site rules.
Keeping the grounds tidy and weed free.
Seasonal Groundsperson -
Assisting in the care and daily maintenance of grass courts to include applying nutrition (granular and liquid), mowing, marking out, operating pedestrian and tractor mounted machinery, Spring and Autumn grass court renovations across all venues.
Identifying and controlling of weeds, pests, diseases and disorders.
Assisting in the care and daily maintenance of clay courts, hard courts, covered courts, croquet lawns, ornamental, other grass areas and car parks across all venues.
Ensuring grounds, paths and areas surrounding courts are tidy and weed free.
Assisting in the care and maintenance of all equipment, tools and benches.
Setting up courts for play to include – erecting permanent and temporary netting, operating grass court covers, maintaining cups and water on courts, maintaining and moving benches.
About you -
Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure effective communication and collaboration with ability to build good working relationships within the team and other departments and venues.
Organised, efficient, professional and reliable with a pro-active, solution-focused approach to meet deadlines.
Current full driving licence (Category B). It is a condition of employment the successful applicant holds, and continues to hold, a current full driving licence and be able to demonstrate the ability to safely operate vehicles including, for example, tractors, ride on machinery, buggies and company vehicles (list not exhaustive) to the required standard and in accordance with our site rules.

Flexibility to include weekends, evenings and a different pattern of hours to cover events across all venues.
Seasonal Groundsperson -
Strong turf knowledge and qualifications to include level 2, or equivalent, in sports turf and PA1 and PA6A.
Proven knowledge and practical experience gained in a professional environment with grass tennis courts and other tennis court surfaces to competition standard.
Recognise all events and matches are important to the image and the operation of the AELTC.
To support the delivery of all events across all venues there is a requirement to work in accordance with a different rota and shift pattern to cover the additional requirements of the role including extended hours, days, weekends and evenings.

During The Championships period your role will help to support the AELTC’s goal of delivering the world’s premier tennis tournament and to support one of the world’s most prestigious tennis clubs.
Seasonal Gardener -
The Horticultural Services Department designs and delivers the landscaping in accordance with the Strategic Plan to encompass multiple venues. We provide landscaping at the heart of ‘Tennis in an English Garden’ adding up to 19,000 additional plants to enhance all the venues and experience for spectators, members and visitors.
The role is based on 35 hours per week and flexibility is required to meet the demands of the job and will include working evenings and weekends – a shift pattern will be required to cover events including additional hours, days, evenings and weekends.
Seasonal Groundstaff -
The Groundstaff Department delivers year-round maintenance and state of the art preparation for The Championships which sees around 3,500 hours of use during The Championships.
Year-round the role is based on 40 hours per week with a requirement to work in accordance with a rota and shift pattern to cover the day-to-day requirements of the role including additional hours, days, weekends and evenings.

Greenkeeper Position for Opotiki Golf Course
The Opotiki Golf Club is seeking a part- or full-time green keeper to lead and work with the Clubs 18-hole course volunteers to deliver high standard playing surfaces for members and visitors.
The position will have a vital role in all facets of turf management, course presentation, and equipment upkeep, and would suit either a developing green keeper wanting to take the next step, or a semi-retired person with turf management skills looking for an environment change.

Created by globally respected architect Robin Gibson, our new par 72, 18-hole Championship Course will be situated within a beautifully landscaped parkland precinct, inspired by some of the finest courses in North America and the UK. What you can expect in a day in the role:
As a Team Leader, you’ll take ownership of daily operations across the golf course. Leading the maintenance of the golf course, gardens, and surroundings areas - including turf management, irrigation, mowing. Working alongside the Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, you’ll lead a team in safe and effective chemical applications, pest and disease management, ensuring top-tier turf performance, water conservation and sustainability.
You’ll set high standards for presentation, precision, and safety while mentoring others to build their own technical capability. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in world-class playing surfaces and wants to be part of establishing a landmark course from its first season.
We’re looking for two Team Leaders: one who is skilled in Spraying and another who specialises in Irrigation, both leading our teams to excellence.
Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Drive daily golf course maintenance operations, allocate tasks, set clear standards, and lead by example.
Provide feedback on turf health, quality of surfaces, course presentation and attention to detail to management.
Mentor, support, and supervise crew members in the field.
Spray Technician:
Oversee all spray programs and chemical applications across greens, tees, and fairways.
Provide top-level expertise in safe chemical application (herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, fertilisers).
Lead integrated pest and disease management solutions.
Prepare, calibrate, and operate spraying equipment to expert standards.
Use GPS and variable-rate systems for precision application.
Irrigation Technician:

Maintain and promptly repair all hydraulic and control systems.
Operate electrical systems for irrigation control.
Implement industry best-practice water conservation.

Spray Technician Team Leader

Created by globally respected architect Robin Gibson, our new par 72, 18-hole Championship Course will be situated within a beautifully landscaped parkland precinct, inspired by some of the finest courses in North America and the UK. Make no mistake, what’s coming is a landmark in every sense of the word. It’s a course that rewards thoughtful play and invites golfers to return again and again.
Scheduled to open in Summer 2026/27, it will offer a visually stunning and challenging experience and we’re now looking for a motivated and talented Team Leader to help prepare and maintain the course to premium tournament standards.
What you can expect in a day in the role:
As Spray Technician Team Leader, you’ll take ownership of all spray operations across the golf course. Working alongside the Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, you’ll lead a small team in safe and effective chemical applications, pest and disease management, and continual turf improvement.
You’ll set high standards for presentation, precision, and safety while mentoring others to build their own technical capability. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in world-class playing surfaces and wants to be part of establishing a landmark course from its first season.
Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Oversee all spray programs and chemical applications across greens, tees, and fairways.
Provide top-level expertise in safe chemical application (herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, fertilisers).
Lead integrated pest and disease management solutions.
Prepare, calibrate, and operate spraying equipment to expert standards.
Use GPS and variable-rate systems for precision application.
Drive daily operations, set clear standards, and lead by example.
Mentor, support, and supervise crew members in the field.
Allocate and monitor tasks, directing resources for optimal output and quality.
Minimise downtime and actively improve team productivity.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Given the expert and senior nature of this role, it is expected that the successful applicant will bring a strong track record in turf chemical management, with the ability to lead, teach, and work to the highest agronomic standards. The successful candidate will bring the following:
A strong understanding of chemical application, pest/disease control, and spray equipment operation
Engaging and positive team leadership and motivation
Strong safety, compliance, and record-keeping skills
Hands-on experience with technology-driven application practices
Demonstrated in field experience working at a team leader level in a similar role.
As well as the following qualifications and experience:
Cert III in Sports Turf Management (AHC31319)
Chemical User Accreditation (AHCCHM307 + AHCCHM304), Agricultural Chemical Skill Set (AHCSS00074) and State Chem Applicator Licence (Tasmania NRE)
