At Country Club Tasmania, we’re building something truly special — a new championship golf course designed to rival some of the world’s best. 

Created by a globally respected architect Robin Gibson, our new par 72, 18-hole Championship Course will be situated within a beautifully landscaped parkland precinct, inspired by some of the finest courses in North America and the UK. Make no mistake, what’s coming is a landmark in every sense of the word. It’s a course that rewards thoughtful play and invites golfers to return again and again.   

Scheduled to open in Summer 2026/27, it will offer a visually stunning and challenging experience and we’re now looking for a motivated and talented Team Leader to help prepare and maintain the course to premium tournament standards. 

What you can expect in a day in the role: 

You’ll be responsible for all irrigation system operation, maintenance, and upgrades whilst providing daily leadership and technical guidance to our team, ensuring top-tier turf performance, water conservation, and sustainability.  

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to: 

  • Drive daily operations, set clear standards, and lead by example. 

  • Mentor, support, and supervise crew members in the field. 

  • Expert operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all irrigation systems. 

  • Develop, schedule, and monitor water distribution for maximum course health and efficiency. 

  • Maintain and promptly repair all hydraulic and control systems. 

  • Operate electrical systems for irrigation control. 

  • Implement industry best-practice water conservation. 

  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and training for equipment management. 

  • Liaise with other teams for integrated operations and project planning. 

What you’ll bring to the role: 

Given the expert and senior nature of this role, it is expected that the successful applicant will bring the following: 

  • Team leadership, coordination and technical mentorship abilities 

  • Deep expertise in irrigation, hydraulics, pumps, and electrical systems 

  • Skill with troubleshooting, repairs, and system optimisation 

  • Commitment to water efficiency and environmental care 

  • Cert III in Irrigation Technology, or Cert III in Sports Turf Management (plus irrigation units) 

  • Proven experience with hydraulic and electrical systems 

  • Demonstrated in field experience working at a team leader level in a similar role.

Spray Technician Team Leader

As Spray Technician Team Leader, you’ll take ownership of all spray operations across the golf course. Working alongside the Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, you’ll lead a small team in safe and effective chemical applications, pest and disease management, and continual turf improvement. 

You’ll set high standards for presentation, precision, and safety while mentoring others to build their own technical capability. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in world-class playing surfaces and wants to be part of establishing a landmark course from its first season. 

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to: 

  • Oversee all spray programs and chemical applications across greens, tees, and fairways.

  • Provide top-level expertise in safe chemical application (herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, fertilisers). 

  • Lead integrated pest and disease management solutions. 

  • Prepare, calibrate, and operate spraying equipment to expert standards. 

  • Use GPS and variable-rate systems for precision application. 

  • Drive daily operations, set clear standards, and lead by example. 

  • Mentor, support, and supervise crew members in the field. 

  • Allocate and monitor tasks, directing resources for optimal output and quality. 

  • Minimise downtime and actively improve team productivity. 

What you’ll bring to the role: 

Given the expert and senior nature of this role, it is expected that the successful applicant will bring a strong track record in turf chemical management, with the ability to lead, teach, and work to the highest agronomic standards. The successful candidate will bring the following: 

  • A strong understanding of chemical application, pest/disease control, and spray equipment operation

Peninsula Kingswood Country Golf Club, invites applications for a Full Time Qualified Turf Tradesperson to join their golf course maintenance team, commencing anytime between October 2025 – December 2025.  Applicants must have a keen interest in fine turf management, horticulture, machinery and embrace a strong learning and development culture.

- Certificate III in Horticulture qualification (green keeping) or similar.

The Wanaka Golf Club is looking to employ a greenkeeper to add to our team.

Experienced Greenkeeper

The Morgans of Pauatahanui is seeking a qualified Greenkeeper as an assistant to our Head Greenkeeper. We are an exciting home for a turf expert who can think outside the square and apply their skills not only to our playing surface but also to the abundance of other grassed areas we have including our earthen sculptures, amphitheatre, recreational areas within our Conservation Reserve and park grounds around our numerous facilities. Our amenity is committed to continual improvement and development.

The successful candidate will most likely be someone with a strong interest in golf. We have a team of 7 who look after the playing surface, grounds and gardens of our recreational and cultural destination. The work is varied with turf maintenance being the central but not sole responsibility for this position. The ideal applicant should possess:

  • Sports Turf L4 qualification and demonstrated skill

  • A strong work ethic and commitment to the culture of our team 

  • An eye for detail and presentation.

  • An enthusiasm to be involved in the stream of development projects we have underway

  • Keen interest in golf.

Experience in maintenance and servicing mowers and other light machinery would be beneficial but not mandatory.

Foxton Golf Club is seeking a full-time Greenkeeper to join our team and help maintain our course to a high standard for members and visitors.

About Foxton Golf Club

Foxton Golf Club features an 18-hole course — Par 72 for men (5860 metres) and Par 73 for ladies (5075 metres). We have a strong membership of around 300 members, with regular club days on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for 18-hole members, and Wednesdays for our 9-hole members. We also host a number of popular fundraising tournaments throughout the year, making the club a busy and enjoyable place to work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out all aspects of turf maintenance

  • Mowing, spraying, fertilising, and seeding

  • Preparing and setting up the golf course (hole cutting, tee placement, etc.)

  • Operating and maintaining irrigation systems

  • Safe operation and routine maintenance of course machinery and equipment

  • General course upkeep and presentation

Skills & Experience

  • Good knowledge of irrigation systems and ability to use computer-based control systems

  • ERMA Approved Handler & Growsafe Certificates (or equivalent) required
