SITUATION VACANT – PART TIME GREENKEEPER

The Otumoetai Golf Club, Bureta Road, Tauranga is seeking a part time Greenkeeper to join our team to assist with the maintenance and development of our inner city 9 hole course.

Initially this would be equivalent to a 2 day per week position to assist our current Greenkeeper in all aspects of golf course maintenance.

Previous experience in turf management or related field is required.

Greenkeeper – Hamilton Golf Club

Hamilton Golf Club is seeking a qualified or experienced Greenkeeper to join our course maintenance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional in the turf management industry to contribute to the upkeep and development of our highly regarded course.

About the Role:
As a key member of our greenkeeping team, you will play an essential role in maintaining and improving the playing conditions of the course. The successful applicant will bring either industry-recognised qualifications or proven experience in golf course maintenance. Emphasis will be placed on someone with strong understanding of modern turf management practices.

Key Responsibilities:
• Turf maintenance – including mowing, fertilization, and pest/disease control
• Irrigation system management and drainage work
• Machinery operation and maintenance
• Bunker and greens maintenance
• Assisting with course improvement and renovation projects

Requirements:
✔ A formal qualification in Sports Turf Management, Greenkeeping, or proven experience in golf course maintenance
✔ Proficiency in operating and maintaining turf care machinery
✔ Strong understanding of turf health, irrigation, and disease management
✔ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
✔ A commitment to maintaining high course presentation standards
✔ Knowledge of golf and course playability considerations (preferred)

Working Conditions & Benefits:
• Full-time position (Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 2:30pm)
• Rostered weekend work, typically completed by 9:30am

TAIERI GOLF CLUB – GREENKEEPER

About the Taieri Golf Club Taieri Lakes Golf Course is an 18-hole course with tree lined fairways and five lakes situated 15 minutes from the Octagon (92 Milners Road, North Taieri). Current membership of 430.

About the Role

This role supports the existing Greenkeeper in being responsible for the maintenance, care and overall appearance of the Taieri Lakes Golf Course. The greenkeeper is charged with maintaining a good playing surface to ensure the course offers a consistent challenge and an enjoyable experience to golfers.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Holds a NZ Certificate in Sports Turf Managemen

  • Approved Handlers Certificate (Agrichemicals) Growsafe is desired

  • Holds a full NZ Driver’s licence

  • Previous experience working in a greenkeeping/assistant greenkeeper capacity

  • Able to demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude

  • Good written and oral communication skills

  • Computer literate – able to maintain up to date records

  • Able to take direction and is open to learning

  • Good communicator who builds positive working relationships and able to engage with a wide range of people with ease

  • Adheres to and promotes the core values of Taieri Lakes Golf Course

  • Is dependable, honest and reliable • Shows initiative, and good planning

  • Intuitively knows what is right and will do the right thing when no-one is looking

Stratford - Taranaki Seeks Greenkeeper

At Stratford Golf Course, we pride ourselves on maintaining one of the finest golf courses in the area. With superb sand-based greens and picturesque fairways, we are dedicated to delivering a top-tier experience for our golfers. We are seeking a motivated Greenskeeper who takes pride in their work to help us uphold these high standards.

Responsibilities: Maintain and care for our sand-based greens, fairways, perform tasks such as mowing, trimming, irrigation, and seasonal upkeep, assist with equipment maintenance and ensure safety standards ,collaborate with the team to ensure the golf course is in pristine condition daily.

Qualifications:

  • Prefer Level 4 Sports Turf but would consider Level 3.

  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in producing quality results.

  • Previous landscaping or greenskeeping experience preferred, but not essential.

  • Willingness to learn and develop in the field, with apprenticeship opportunities available.

Golf Course Superintendent at Maraenui Golf Club, Hawkes bay

Maraenui Golf Club (MGC) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Golf Course Superintendent.

Maraenui Golf Club is one of Hawkes Bay’s finest, set in lovely tree lined surrounds just off Marine Parade in Napier. Although flat and easy to walk, the 6,125 metre 18-hole course offers tightly sculptured tree lined fairways with creative greens complexes and bunkering for all levels to enjoy. Home to 900+ members and over 5,000 visitors every year, Maraenui is a popular Hawkes Bay course.

Running alongside Maraenui is our public 9-hole course that is open to all golfers, non-golfers, families, social and work groups. Recently devastated by Cyclone Gabrielle, Awatoto Public Golf Course and facilities are ripe for redevelopment.

This is a unique opportunity to join the senior management team and deliver a positive outcome for a club that is looking to deliver significant change in the coming years and needs a leader who can contribute towards this direction and deliver meaningful outcomes on time and on budget.

The Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for all course maintenance, agronomic operations, budget control and personnel.
