The Hills Limited is seeking a suitably qualified person to fill the role of Irrigation Technician to join us for our upcoming course renovation and expansion.
The Irrigation Technician is required to perform a wide range of duties on the golf course and surrounding areas including maintenance tasks as directed by the Golf Course Superintendent.
Duties will include:
Irrigation system use and maintenance
Checking moisture levels daily during periods of heat stress
Liaise with management in the setting of nightly irrigation
Direct other staff on areas to be hand watered
Fix breaks of the system hardware in a timely fashion
General golf course maintenance tasks
Any other duties as deemed necessary for the successful operation and upkeep of the irrigation systems and the golf course
Key Skills and Knowledge:
A good level of fitness is required
Reliability and being able to work as part of a team
Strong work ethic and resilience
Good practical skills, and turf (or similar relevant) qualification or experience equivalent to level 4 or above. Or on the job experience either internationally or locally (or a combination of both) of 3 years
Ability to quickly learn new skills
Ability to relate well with a diverse range of people

4 1/2 day working week based on either a Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday roster.

Role Responsibilities
As our Golf Course Superintendent, you will:
Lead and manage all turf care operations across both courses
Develop and implement maintenance programs for greens, fairways, tees, bunkers, and surrounds
Oversee irrigation systems, including operation and repairs
Recruit, train, and supervise course staff and contractors
Ensure high standards of turf health, presentation, and playability
Prepare and manage budgets and capital planning
Monitor and manage pest, disease, and weed control programs
Maintain compliance with environmental and health & safety regulations
Coordinate with the General Manager and Course Committees on course development projects
Plan for sustainability and futureproofing the course under changing climate conditions
What We are Looking For
Applicants must be qualified in sports turf management or a related field, and have prior experience in a superintendent or assistant superintendent role.

Te Puke Golf Club (Home of the 2021 PGA Championship) is looking for a passionate Assistant Superintendent to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in turf management.
Key Requirements:
* Qualifications & Experience:
Hold a Sports turf qualification or have good knowledge in turf and or machinery
Grow safe certificate or willingness to obtain.
* Skills: Machinery maintenance, irrigation knowledge, disease prevention, health and safety regulations.
* Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in NZ and hold a valid NZ driver’s license.

* Physically fit, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.

The Wanaka Golf Club is looking to employ a greenkeeper to add to our existing team.
Located in picturesque Central Otago 40 minutes from Queenstown, Wanaka provides the perfect base for someone who likes outdoor pursuits while still having all the amenities of a thriving town. The Wanaka Golf Club has a large membership base and caters to around 50,000 rounds per year. The club is constantly upgrading the facility and has numerous projects scheduled in the next few years
Requirements:
The ideal candidate would either hold a sports turf qualification or have experience working on golf courses
Be eligible to work in New Zealand
Hold a New Zealand drivers licence
Hold a Growsafe certificate or be willing to obtain

Our club is well equipped with machinery and has a good volunteer base to assist with tasks on the course.
The successful candidate must have:
