Course Superintendent - Hukanui Golf Club
This is a sole charge full time position. The successful applicant will report directly to the President, and will maintain the course, vegetation, plant & infrastructure, equipment, and utility facilities. They will also be responsible for managing part-time course assistants.
An on-site 3 Bedroom property is available at a subsidized rate if required.
Key attributes required:
Recognised NZ Turf Qualification.
Minimum of Certificate in Sports Turf Management Level 3, with a preference of Level 4.
Have a good understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace environment.
Have a Growsafe Standard Certificate (or equivalent).
Must be experienced in operating all core machinery, keep machinery maintenance up to date, and report regularly to the course committee.
Work well unsupervised, be reliable, and have a conscientious “can do” attitude.
High level of attention to detail, and good time management skills.
Have a valid New Zealand driving licence.

Waipu Golf Club - Greenkeeper
Waipu Golf Club is excited to welcome a motivated and enthusiastic Greenkeeper to join our close-knit and passionate course team. We are looking for either a newly qualified Greenkeeper, someone starting their career in turf management, or an individual looking to begin a career in golf course maintenance.
Located in the stunning Bream Bay, Northland, Waipu Golf Club offers a unique working environment surrounded by spectacular coastal views and a strong sense of community. Our club is committed to continual improvement, with a significant $1.4 million investment in irrigation and course upgrades completed in 2022. Ideally, the successful applicant will have:
A qualification in turf management, horticulture, or a related field, or a strong interest and willingness to learn the fundamentals of greenkeeping.
Previous experience working on a golf course, sports turf, landscaping, or a similar outdoor environment is preferred but not essential.
A willingness to continue learning and develop skills across all aspects of golf course maintenance.
Growsafe certification preferred, or a willingness to complete the required training for safe chemical application.
A current driver’s licence.
The ability to work well within a team environment and complete tasks independently when required.
A strong work ethic, good attention to detail, and pride in producing high-quality results.
A willingness to work rostered weekends as part of the golf course maintenance team. Weekend work is shared across the team to ensure the course is maintained to a high standard for member play, competitions, and events.

North Shore Golf Club - Irrigation Technician / Greenkeeper
Position Objective:
Maintain and repair the course Irrigation System, ensure that the grounds within the North Shore Golf Clubs boundary are maintained to the highest possible standard at all times.
Position Description and Duties:
The position of Irrigation Technician will take primary responsibility for the golf club's irrigation system whilst also maintaining the boundaries within the North Shore Golf Club to the highest possible standard at all times while continually adding value as a senior staff member to the Foreman (3iC), Assistant Superintendent (2iC) and Golf Course Superintendent.
This will be achieved by:
Assisting in all areas of the day to day grooming of the golf course. Including mowing all areas of the golf environs, bunker development and maintenance, assisting with course renovations and to assist with other duties as required.
Proactively implement and apply designed programs to all surfaces
Assistant in the Management of the Volunteer effort and work closely with this group to deliver high standards of presentation
Assist in the management of the Irrigation systems and componentry being able to program irrigation applications where needed
Gaining satisfactory knowledge on all plant and machinery used on the course and to use it in a correct and safe manner so as not to injure yourself or work mates
Carrying out basic maintenance on all machinery as directed by the Course Mechanic
Reporting any damage to plant and machinery immediately to the Course Mechanic, 2iC or the Course Superintendent
Being self motivated and in some cases working unsupervised
Being available to work extra hours when required including a rotating roster for weekends
Being polite and courteous to club members
Wearing (at all times) and maintaining staff uniform
Leading by example by exemplifying professionalism and showing less experienced staff on how to manage yourself as a tradesperson
Take control and lead from the front with high level work practices when working on project works
Be an influential senior staff member with apprenticed staff and teach with a high degree of empathy
Provide a good eye for detail and look for on-going improvement relating to set up and presentation for the golf course
Be proactive and become a leader in self education and increase your knowledge in all facets of the business
Assist in the management of contractors providing guidance and supervision where necessary
Liaise with all levels of Club Management including Proshop Manager and staff, Golf Operations Manager and Assistant, General Manager and Club Administrator where necessary
Administer the Course Closed Policy of the club when required

The course is set on gentle rolling dune country and operates in a rural environment close to the towns of Marton and Bulls, and 20-30 minutes from Palmerston North and Whanganui. The course is an 18 hole, par 72 parkland layout, developed in the 1950s.

With our long‑serving Superintendent retiring 31 March 2027 we are starting the search now to secure the right person to fill this unique role. There will be a planned 2-to-3-month transition to ensure continuity is maintained for our members and the new Course Superintendent is well established in both the new role and lifestyle on the Island. Role Overview
This is a full‑time, hands‑on, lead from the front role responsible for all aspects of course maintenance, turf management, staff supervision, seasonal planning and mechanical maintenance. The Superintendent role is supported by a full time Apprentice Course Superintendent and 0.4 FTE Mechanic. The Course Superintendent is expected to manage day to day operations working largely autonomously keeping the committee informed regularly on progress against plans. You will be supported with the Course Committee and Club leadership to ensure high‑quality playing surfaces year‑round, members expectations are being met and long‑term course aspirations are being advanced.
Limited relocation support is available. Accommodation is not included.

We’re seeking a skilled Irrigation Technician & Greenkeeper to maintain and repair the course’s irrigation systems and contribute to the daily care and presentation of our championship-standard turf.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair all irrigation systems and components.
Monitor water usage and wetting agent applications for efficient irrigation.
Support turf management, course setup, and presentation standards.
Assist with training junior staff in irrigation and watering techniques.
Uphold high health, safety, and environmental standards.

Methven Golf Course Green Keeping Position.
Methven Golf Club is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced person preferably close to or holding level 3 or 4 qualifications for our 18-hole course situated just outside Methven township and only a short distance from the famous Mt Hutt Ski Field.
This is a full-time position that offers up-and-coming Greens Keepers experience at one of Mid-Canterbury’s most popular golfing venues for members and the many visitors we host annually.
We are looking for a passionate individual who will drive excellence within our small team and help to deliver a high-quality course, with top-class playing surfaces through best practice maintenance activities.
We are looking for the following skills and attributes:
Experience leading volunteers and able to fit into a small vibrant team.
Comprehensive knowledge of turf management and agronomy including formal qualifications such as a recognised turf diploma/certificate, including relevant spraying expertise.
Experience in planning, maintaining and consistently delivering a well-presented golf course to tournament standards.
Knowledge and experience with assisting to develop and efficiently manage a budget including establishing and implementing asset management programmes.
Knowledge of and experience in irrigation maintenance and installation. Plus, experience in managing a fleet of machinery and plant equipment.
An outgoing and consultative attitude that will contribute to wider Club initiatives and projects.
